Well, if you haven’t already guessed by this crazy cold weather, it’s officially Winter Time. As an Esthetician and Makeup Artist, I understand how much the seasons affect your skin, as well as your makeup. When the seasons change, it can be time to change your skin and makeup routine. Here are a few quick tips for this winter!

Exfoliation is important! Be sure to exfoliate your skin regularly for a soft, smooth glow. My favorite product to use is Skin Script’s Glycolic and Retinol Pads, which can be used easily and quickly every day after cleansing. They are a great way to keep your skin smooth between professional spa treatments, which makes your makeup look even prettier!

Moisturizer is key this season! Whether your skin is oily, dry, or combination, use lots of moisturizer that is suitable for your skin condition, both morning and night. You can also mix a little into your foundation to create a hydrating foundation that will leave your skin beautiful all day.  Dab on a bit of cream or liquid highlighter above the cheekbones for a healthy glow! One of my favorite highlighters is Stila All Over Liquid Shimmer in Kitten. Brush a small bit on cheekbones and above the cupid’s bow of your lips. Which leads us to our next tip!

Lips are important! Make a simple lip scrub with one part sugar and one part coconut oil, and gently scrub any flakiness away. Be sure to use a hydrating balm, lipstick, or gloss regularly. I like to make my own Vegan lip balm using one part Candelilla Wax and 2 parts Olive Oil. You can also add a bit of tint by mixing in some lipstick or colored pigment!

Stay Warm and Beautiful!!
