Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Winged Eyeliner look, but it can be difficult to achieve! As a makeup artist, I get a lot of questions on how to create this look, and how make both sides even. What I’ve found is that most women try to go about angle the wrong way – so here’s a quick and easy tip to completely change how you do it!
First, I find it’s easiest to achieve this look with a felt tip liner pen. My favorite is the NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker, $9.50 at Ulta. Most women try to brush the angle flick in an upward motion – instead, hold the flat felt tip pen at a 45 degree angle and (very gently) pull downwards toward your eye! Then create and finish off the rest of the line, moving inwards, instead of outwards. This creates the perfect flick liner every time!
If you find you have difficulty getting your angles even on each eye, do the flick/angle part first on each eye, then go back and fill in the rest of your liner. This will give you more ability to make corrections if need be.
